The Durango Mountain Camp is located north of Durango at the Colorado Timberline Academy, at an elevation of 6,500' in the beautiful Animas Valley. The camp is bounded by the Animas River on the east, alpine peaks reaching 14,000 ft. in the San Juan National Forest to the north, and the picturesque Hermosa Cliffs on the west. Renovated ranch buildings on the 40-acre campus contain log cabins for staff and students, tutorial rooms, classrooms, an art center, computer center, library, common areas, dining areas and playing fields.
